Problems followed by problems.
Hey can anyone share information with me on how to install the game? I downloaded the Full version for Windows Xp and first there's the .DLL problem which I downloaded and paste it into the folder. But when I start the game a prompt ".... failed to initialize properly ...." pops out. What should I do? Should i download the minimum too? I used the .exe btw

Hi and welcome. We need to know a little more about your computer, operating system, video card, and drivers. What kind of error message "pops out" - you mean a dialog box with an OK button?

Okay Im on amd2.6 1.9GHZ 1GB RAM Windows XP SP2 Nvedia Geforce 3 TI.

I installed the minimum which works out perfectly. But when I start the game I couldnt see anything. The words are in block format. Someone posted this problem too. Under help "Please Help Me" Under this someone qoute the files have to be like this, C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\skins\simple\fonts\ and C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\skins\simple\textures\. but mine is C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\skins\simple\fonts\ and C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\textures instead.

Back to your question, Yes a dialog box with a OK button. I click ok and nothing happens.

You should have C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\skins\simple\textures as well as C:\Program Files\VDrift\data\textures - the former is the graphics for the skin, the latter is graphics that are used in different parts of the game.

Can you try finding your VDrift.config file? It should be in C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\VDrift - or something along those lines. I don't have a Windows box handy to make sure, and that hasn't been added to our documentation wiki yet. I'll try to clarify the location soon...

edit: The correct location is C:\Document and Settings\username\.vdrift\VDrift.config. Sorry for the confusion...

Anyway please try changing the line "texture_size = medium" under the [ display ] section to "texture_size = large" and see if that fixes the graphics problem. If it does, that means it's a problem with SDL_gfx, if not, then it's something else...

Thanks for your help Smile

What was in the dialog box?

Could you try installing the minimal version over the full version?
