I was tempted to try the batmobile. Maybe after the Mustang and Westy
For Japanese cars, definitely a Skyline and Supra... Maybe 91 and 96 Honda Preludes too Not sure if they're RWD though....

Some corrections:
Saturn is GM.
Also, the Saturn Sky is based on the Pontiac Solstice.
The Saturn Sky Red Line is the equivalent of the Pontiac Solstice GXP.
The Pontiac Solstice GXP has the 260 HP and 260 Lb torque turbo charged Ecotec 4 cylinder engine. It's capable of going around 145 MPH.

At the expense of cross posting, cars and tracks I would love to see:
reece146 Wrote:In no particular order:
1998-ish Subaru Impreza 22B
1998 Subaru Impreza RS (North American market version with DOHC 2.5liter)
Any vintage Lotus 7 / Locost
1990-ish Chevrolet Corvette (later 4th gen)
2005/6 Ford GT (tweak existing G4?)
1988 Porsche Carrera (tweak existing CS?)
1993 Porsche Carrera (993, non-turbo, tweak existing CS?)
1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS w/ 350 cid engine - Trans-Am racing version version too
1972 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS w/ 350 cid engine - Trans-Am racing version version too
1972 AMC Javelin w/ 401 cid engine - Trans-Am racing version too.
1972 Plymouth Barracuda w/ 360 cid engine - TransAm racing version too.
1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 w/ 351C cid engine - Trans-Am Racing version too.
1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am (Smokey and the Bandit) with 455 cid engine.
1984 Ferrari 288GTO
~2000 Chevrolet Camaro SS
1987(?) Buick Regal GNX
1990 Honda CRX
If anyone wants to do any of these cars let me know and I will try to scare up some three views and performance data. If you are a graphics person but don't want to take on the performance model let me knw - maybe we can team up?
Tracks:
Mosport
Shannonville
Montreal (Circuit Villeneuve)
St. Jovite / Tremblant
Calabogie, ON (new track opened this year)
Watkins Glen
Any other track with fast straights and lots of elevation changes

I'd just like to take the opportunity here, since everyone's requesting cars, to mention the fact that nobody is working on cars for VDrift right now. For quite a while dmaurer aka kcid was doing it, but I haven't heard from him in quite a while - he hasn't gotten on IRC or the site, nor has he answered any of my emails.
So for all of you wishing to drive this car or that in VDrift, we need someone to step up to the plate and start helping take care of the cars. I can't keep up with all the cars as well as code...there's just not enough time. Joe and I have a little time between coding to tweak a car or two, from time to time, but right now there are simply too many for us to manage all of them, and there's no way we'll have time to add new ones at this rate.
Lots of people have started threads in the past few months saying they'll make cars, some even posting very nice screen shots, but we haven't seen any (since dmaurer's) come to fruition. There are some really nice models out there, that just need to be found or converted. I hope somebody decides to do this soon...otherwise we probably won't see many new cars in the game for a while.

Well, I can take a swipe at it but having never done any 3d graphics my output will probably suck.
I can do the tuning part no problem, the skinning too likely, its the 3D model that gives me grief.
Is there a way to import racer models into vdrift? I thought I saw something about it but haven't been able to locate the resource again.

thelusiv, still here was not on IRC a while because of work taking over life haha. I'll first look into finishing the Lotus 7 model since that one is almost finished.
Cheers,
Dick

I'd love to work *with* people on cars, but I have never been much of an artist of any sort.
Same here, won't start on my Mac. I'll try tinkering with it. Worst case I'll run it off one of the Linux servers.

Hey, which version of python do you have installed? Does it match the version of blender that you have downloaded (noticed the FreeBSD only has one d/l link).
I downloaded the correct version for python on the system and I'm up and running.
