Hmm, that's odd. I've never seen that one before...I have the same version of OpenAL as you, and I don't even have ALUT installed, and it works fine for me. I don't know much about the sound stuff, but that looks like something that is called to initialize OpenAL itself.You say you're using the linux-binary+src package - I guess you mean the linux-bin+data package? It might be a good idea to try compiling from source, since you're using an OS we haven't really tested on. Since you already have the data, you don't need to redownload it.
