Rotating steering wheel
I added this code

in the .car file,but I cannot make steering wheel to rotate.
And maybe someone can make the board needles.

What vdrift version? I've tested your settings with vdrift trunk and XS.car. It works without any issues.

Version 3030,I've compiled the last version from trunk and doesn't want to load any car,with this error: ERROR: Couldn't get section "0.71, 0.55, 0.0" from "data/cars/DSN/DSN.car"

Make sure I've got the latest vdrift-data, update/fix your local configs.

Steering wheel rotation axis is z-axis. Means you need to adjust the mesh accordingly.

[wheel.fl.hinge]
wheel = -0.80, 1.55, -0.70
chassis = 0.71, 0.55, 0.0
...

particle-00 -> particle.00

Great idea! I wanted to post exactly the same question!

But in general: Does the steering wheel move in every car or does it need a special car? Where to enter the code you've posted? Can you please explain?
Will this feature come into vdrift officially?

You need the latest vdrift/vdrift-data. All cars in trunk have the same default steering wheel atm.

The code goes into the car config file: "*.car":
