Wiki maintenance

Looking through the VDrift wiki lately, I've noticed that a lot of pages haven't been updated since 2007, others since 2009. Some contain outdated information.

I've gone through and added Category tags to nearly all the pages on the wiki. The Categories list is here:

I made a category for each of the headings on the Main Page, one for each operating system, and a special set that describe the state of a page. Those are:

[[Category:Review]] - need to check this page and see if it's up-to-date
[[Category:Update]] - this page is outdated, needs to be updated
[[Category:Expand]] - this page doesn't have enough information
[[Category:Reformat]] - this page needs to be reformatted

There are two other new categories which I set up to help categorize some pages not linked on the Main page:
[[Category:External Resources]]
[[Category:Historical]]

If you want to help maintain the documentation, please take a look at the pages marked for Review, Update, Expand, or Reformat. Once you have modified a page to fix a problem please remove that Category tag.

You're welcome It now needs someone with more technical knowledge. While that's going one, it would seem a good time to update the readme and other documentation.

If you would like to continue helping, I have just made comments on some of the Talk pages for articles I had marked for update. I think there are more things which do not require too much more technical knowledge.

Timo 6, thanks again! You're doing great work. I will keep posting on Talk pages with comments about how things can be updated, feel free to continue your work. You have no idea how helpful it is!

One small request: could you sign your comments on the Talk pages? Just use "--~~~~" or press the next-to-last formatting button.

I updated a lot more pages tonight. All the pages marked update should have something on the Talk page now, as well as a note warning users that the information is probably wrong. I also went ahead and did some minor updating and reformatting of a few pages.

Spam is building up on the wiki at the moment. If everyone else is busy I'd be happy to deal with it.
We could also do with updating mediawiki at some point there is a bug in firefox atm where the sidebar goes to the bottom of the page which is suppose to be fixed in later versions.

Doh... please do. I attempted to give you permissions to be able to do some moderating, if that didn't work let me know. I'll look into updating mediawiki (and maybe trying to spam-proof the user account creation) this weekend.
