Because we can race with 12 cars in Vdrift, I've made 6 teams :

2x RedBull
2x McLaren
2x Ferrari
2x Mercedes
2x Lotus
2x Force India !

Really, cool. I wish I had more time for VDrift. There are so many things that could be implemented...

Btw the sim branch supports custom tire and rim meshes. Could be extended to support suspension geometry movement.

Would be great to raise the limit to 24 cars or more.

Somewhat technical stuff:
When messing with the graphics code recently I had a few ideas on how to eventually get a speed up. Most of the time we've got a lot of low-poly meshes. It might be more efficient to batch them(make a big one) every frame / or n-th frame. Maybe even move the batching into a separate thread.

This is really cool stuff.

I would recommend you make this a separate project/package for VDrift (register on on github/googlecode/sourceforge).

The reason being: there are branding/trademark/licensing issues here and you don't want those to result in a takedown notice for VDrift. Keeping it as a separate project projects the main VDrift project from this eventuality.

A secondary reason is that it increases the web footprint; 2 project vs 1, 2 release announcements vs 1 etc.
