So your points are that with your system:1) fewer key/button presses are needed to navigate if you're not using the mouse2) the list of actions can use two columns3) it's less complexI don't think 1) is very valid, considering I don't know anyone without a mouse. :-) Plus, your system is at least twice as difficult to get around in (whether you use a mouse or not) versus my system with the mouse. For 2), we could implement different "tabs" and have a tab with a table for driving controls, a tab with a table for camera controls, etc. You're right about 3), but I think you can do it!I think the big advantage of my system is:A ) It looks cooler (who wants to select a function from a big page of two-column text?B ) You can see all of the control bindings right away. You don't have to click each function, cycle through the controls, cancel, click the next function, cycle through the controls, cancel, etc to figure out what things are bound to.C ) It's much faster and simpler to adjust the control bindings. You want to delete 10 control bindings? Click on ten buttons. Want to add a binding? Press one button. Want to see what controls are bound to Engage Clutch? Press zero buttons.The big con of my system is that it's complex, but I think it's worth it. Control bindings are a really important part of the game, IMHO, and they're worth spending the time to make fast and easy to use.
