Hi, saw your bug report on bugs.vdrift.net. Thanks for noticing this. In the current version, there are a lot of things missing from the timing system, like making sure the car goes over each piece of the road in order. Currently we're working on a complete rewrite of the track system, and a lot of things will be different when it's done, including how timing works.
