The source code is all open source. Some of the data is either original or used with the explicit permission of the original author. The biggest problem with licensing of the data has probably been 1) there doesn't seem to be a standard "open source" license for data that everyone agrees on, and 2) we haven't done as good a job as we could have in documenting the license status of each piece of data. The best source for info about where a car or track came from is the about.txt file in the folder.
