rendering problems

if i make the horizon a skybox then it kind of bleeds through the track objects which get rendered only as i get close to them (i have the view distance set to maximum).

well, i don't think it's the horizon that kind of bleeds through, but instead it's just that objects don't get drawn at all until they get closer to the car. it's as if there was some kind of invisible object moving with the car and the objects would get drawn only when this object moved past them. but not all of them. some objects further away get drawn while other closer ones don't until later. it's very weird.
