The problem here is that this package is not good. I guess I need to have a talk with the admin at getdeb.com. I have bolded a few things in the output that show the problem. It's trying to pull data files from /usr/games/data - this is not even a vdrift directory. It probably doesn't exist at all. Check on your system and see if it does. Clearly the person who built this package does not understand how VDrift is supposed to be installed, has tried to force it to work like a more traditionally structured unix program, and the result is the game will fail to run.

Since these are the only available debs I know of for VDrift (license issues block them from being included in Debian) it is safe to say there are no working debs of this version of the game.

Oops! :oops: I always forget to update those links. Sorry, I'll fix them. If you install the working autopackage it will automatically uninstall the other one.

You might consider trying the source package if this doesn't work. You just need the src tarball and one of the data tarballs.
