Vamos doesn't do any collision detection, just collision response

What I meant there was that Vamos doesn't detect collisions, but it does handle the forces applied to cars, which happens as a result of a collision (after you detect it and compute what the force should be).

where is the joystick input sent to the network layer ?

In addition, the current multiplayer code also sends/receives car state updates every second to make sure the car is put in the right spot in case packets are dropped. This happens in vamosworld.cc as well. If you are interested I can show you where those are, too.
