select car menu behavior
When the car is changed the game is reset. This makes sense, but it is impossible to cancel the car changing and if the car selection is changed the game is automatically reset, even if the car is the same one that you're currently driving.Try this: current car = s2000. ESC for the menu, then select car. Immediately, the model is changed to the mustang under the menu, and spinning mustang is displayed. The spinning is nice, but the car in the game shouldn't change until the user accepts that selection.Another not about that...I think all the cars should be listed in the car selection menu, and the car made slightly smaller, or here's another idea...lay the menu out like this:
Select CarMustang GT |> details...CancelOK
The arrow indicates that you can use left/right to change that option. When changed it looks like this:
<| Honda S2000details...CancelOK
Changing car with left/right keys is already possible in this menu...now just change up/down key to go through the menu entries [Car/arrows], Cancel, and OK. ESC should be cancel and back to previous menu. If the user selects OK they should be presented with a confirmation menu that says something like: Are you sure you want to change cars? This will reset the current game.YesNoIf the user selects No then back to previous menu, no changes. If the user selects yes, then reset the game and change to the new car.One other thing: the cars have much more evident reflections in the select car menu than in the game. It's kinda cool...I think it should be toned down a wee bit. Were the reflections in the game toned down in the latest version also?
