I can't see anything in the SDL_image 1.2.5 changelog that should mess anything up. But, it's possible there was something that indirectly affected us for some reason...so it wouldn't hurt to try 1.2.4.

I'll be trying these all out soon, once I install Ubuntu Dapper, which may be done by this weekend.

The engine.wav file not loading is a whole different problem.
