Hi all, I have attempted to flesh out the documentation for JOE files here: http://wiki.vdrift.net/JOE_format

I plan on trying to start up a task some time in the future that depends on this information, so it would be helpful if someone in the know could review it and let me know if there are any glaring mistakes.

Believe it or not, there are already some 3d file converters/viewers that support the .JOE format:

Thanks, and you guessed it... I want to try to convert LFS cmx files to JOE. I noticed that they license them freely for non-commercial use. I like thier cars, they have nice interiors, and a ton of skins available.

I wasn't aware of the conversion projects you mentioned so I will check those out before I get started. Maybe someone's already done the legwork for me.

Well... close. It seems karpo supports both formats, but only to load. Looks like I will need to do some coding. Don't expect anything soon though
