I sorted this out - I'm using a game pad, and what's happening is, as you sit waiting for the green, the brakes are on - if you don't fully engage the controller (game pad) in all directions, it doesn't act right until you've done so somehow going around the course. I don't know if this is a code thing, a my controller thing ( didn't used to do this though) or a Mac thing.

If you're using a gamepad or joystick, it's probably your controller, mine does that too. If you watch the values on your controller, even after having calibrated it, you will see that it doesn't always return to 0, and sometimes may be a very low value but still on. This would cause it to leave the brakes on all the time. It's recommended you set small deadzones on most of your axes.

Nah, it's not the dead zone. Like I said, if I move the controls to their full throw while it's counting down, it doesn't do it. If I don't do that, then letting off the gas makes it go full brake until I use full brake, then neutral is neutral.

Sounds pretty funky; I've never heard of that problem before.

Me either - if I'm the only one having it, I'll deal with it just like I am, but I'm going to keep my eyes on it - I've got a couple of guys at work starting to play around with this now as well.
