Problems with starting the game!
Hello, i downloaded the "vdrift-setup-2009-02-15.exe" file, installed the game and when i click run vdrift.exe, a black "DOS like" screen appears for 1/2 second and then nothing.

My SDOUT

INFO: Starting VDrift: 2009-02-16-full, Version: 2346:2348M, O/S: Windows
INFO: Home directory: C:\Documents and Settings\igor v
INFO: Settings file: C:\Documents and Settings\igor v\My Documents\My Games\VDrift/VDrift.config
INFO: Data directory: data
INFO: Log file: C:\Documents and Settings\igor v\My Documents\My Games\VDrift/log.txt
INFO: SDL initialization successful
INFO: SDL video query was successful
INFO: Disabling antialiasing

and my STDERR is empty.

I also tried to loacte vdrift.config, it wasn't there, so i created one, still nothing.
I read a lot of your posts and replys here on forum, but dont know what to do.

my system:
Athlon 1.8 Ghz,
1,5 Ghz RAM
ATI Radeon 9950 256Mb

What can i do?
I really want to play the game.

thanks
I.

It sounds like it's crashing when trying to change the display mode. Just a guess, but try creating a file:

C:\Documents and Settings\igor v\My Documents\My Games\VDrift\VDrift.config

And in the file put this:

Code:
[ display ]
zdepth=16
shaders=false

Also, what version of windows are you using (vista or XP)?

HEy there, tried to do what you wrote me, but still nothing. I noticed, that the black window that appears for 1/2 second has "SDL_App" written in upper left corner, if that helps.
My Windows are XP Pro.

any other ideas??

please help me out here...

I'm stumped. I've never seen a crash so early, which makes me think the crash is happening inside SDL. The only thing I can suggest is to update your video card drivers....

vjc, can you post the output of your stdout.txt and stderr.txt files?
