Dead zone not applied to brake/throttle
When I let go of the gas on my gamepad sometimes the brakes will come on, sometimes they will flash on and off quickly. This tells me that maybe the joystick dead zone isn't being applied here.

Are you using your gamepad's d-pad, or is it an analog control?

Regular analog axis. The D-pad on my controller is actually all hardware, it is an axis that goes from 0 to 1 with no in between values. Enabling it (via a button on the gamepad) disables the left analog stick.

you should bring up the joyinfo screen with j and see if the brake axis is flashing between 0 and 1 or if it's flashing between 0 and 0.01 or something

It's between 0.000 and 0.02... and -0.03...the 5% deadzone setting should cut that off.

Hmm, the code looks like it should be working fine... do all of the deadzone settings result in the brakelights activating?

Hmmm...with the current dev version I can't make it do it anymore, on any deadzone setting.
