new nordschleife track
i've been working on converting a new nordschleife track for rfactor available at http://simscreens.blogspot.com/2008/06/r...-2007.html. the readme states:
Quote:converting this version to other platforms is also permitted - just leave a credit to the original authors!
so, as i interpret it, we can convert it to vdrift. my plan is to replace the existing track, but if people want to keep the old version i can commit it to a new directory. let me know what you think.

Whoa, that looks beautiful. Might as well just leave the old one for now, but of course we'll release with the new one.

the track would be even better if we could set more than 4 bezier control points (if you remember the discussion back in may in this thread http://vdrift.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=975) but 4 points will do for now. i am just finishing up the track and i'll commit it soon.

Wow, that is GREAT fun. They seemed to have somehow added all of the little bumps on the track! I did a lap in the TL2 and it was bouncing all over. :-)

Nice work man, I bet it took forever to trace the whole thing... but boy was it worth it.

it wasn't that bad and i'll do it again if you ever implement more than 4 control points for each bezier patch as discussed in http://vdrift.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=975.

Very nice track. Thanks a lot for the effort. Just need to get my system up to snuff to play it.

first complete round
Thank you, Alex! Very nice do drive!

I had much problems to drive the F1-02 there, because of its high speed nervosity.
Tried and tried, but everetime i flew in the orbit.
Now i took it a little slower and could finish the round with only one spin at „Schwalbenchwanz“ 618.
The track is much better, than the older one. I found that more imagemaps on the track give a much better visual feedback for the driver.

For training on such a long track, more starting points would be helpfull!

@alex25

I found a problem in “Schwalbenschwanz", the "little" Karussell before the end most long straight.
Trying to go inside the cars - F1 and 360 - bounce up.
