I vote for top middle with a bit thicker bracing (hope you understand what i mean)

Great looking cars. I like any of the more aggressive looking swept rims - I can't wait to get these cars in the game and sort out the specs! Smile

Where's our great audio specialist? We need good sounds for this great car, too!
10-20-2007, 10:39 AM,
I agree on top row middle. It does need thicker bracing though.

>xTs Are sounds even working now on Mac OS X?

Do you hear engine sound on MacOS? Then yes.

Hi Everyone,

I was out of town this week and am going to be busy this week so not much progress lately. The screens have been updated, the new rim's been added. I've also worked a bit on the interior

Take your time Smile

(You could give us a version to drive and improve yours further, ehehe... wanna play Smile)
11-11-2007, 02:45 PM,
The interior's complete and I'm starting on the driver. Anyone have a driver model kicking around they wouldn't mind parting with? I'd pull one out of one of the existing cars but I saw somewhere that there are some licensing complications and I don't want to step on any toes.

It'd be nice to (eventually) rig up a driver model with an armature and try to make it so the driver could turn the wheel, shift, etc... so keep that in the back of your mind when modeling it.

There goes my plan to be lazy and make a 3d, untextured stickman =)

What kind of support for bones is in the engine? Or better yet, what engine are we using? Is it built for the game or one of the big ones?

11-12-2007, 09:55 PM,
The engine is all custom. I've got support for the Cal3D format in one of my other projects, and so it wouldn't be hard to add in to VDrift. Cal3D supports skeletal animation, although last time I used it finding a working exporter for blender was tough... but it's supposed to be built into the latest versions of blender.

YAY! possibility of moving drivers sounds nice. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Just got the game working on my PC now. Very cool. I like the Hachi-Roku.

Just out of curiosity, do you think you could make a panda hachi?
11-17-2007, 12:16 AM,
I can make a panda, but I think I would have to give it roller skates to fit the game. Or maybe put it in the background of a zoo track? San Francisco rush style!

(I have no idea what you're talking about)

btw, model's progressing slowly. Here's the work-in-progress driver:
