Things that worked before but now don't
Now that the screnegraph branch has been merged into the trunk, I need to go through and clean up all of the things I broke:
- The HUD needles are missing [fixed R1781]
- Skyboxes don't stay far away [fixed R1770]
- There are no interiors [fixed R1758]
- There are no glass panes [fixed R1758]
- There are no floating elements (brakes) [fixed R1758]
- Brake lights don't work [fixed R1797, data R47]
- Collision doesn't have sane results [fixed]
- Wheels sometimes fall through the ground [fixed R1833]
- There are no reflections [fixed R1792, data R39]
* There are no dynamic reflections
- Shaders aren't managed well (need to finish full shader then back-fill the shaders with effects turned off) [fixed R1786, data R34]
- READY SET GO doesn't display properly [fixed R1787]
- Texture size settings don't work [fixed R1771]
- Many tracks don't load because of missing textures / NaNs [fixed data R83]
- Leaving a game doesn't unload everything properly, causing crashes when another game is started [fixed R1798]
- Spinning car GUI widget is disabled [fixed R1802]
- Car rotation bugs out for a frame or two sometimes (xTs) [fixed R1833]
- Wheels offset from car (kldrock) [fixed? R1833]
- Wheel displacement shows on opposite wheel (TerraRoot) [fixed R1772]
- The per-pixel specular lighting is crappy (looks only somewhat better than per-vertex) [fixed R1782, data R33]
* Textures are randomly missing from tracks
- No tire smoke [fixed R1826]
- No tire squeal [fixed R1825]
* Glass should be see-through for hood or in-car views
* Interiors don't show up in spinning car view
- Loading screens [fixed R1845]
* Purple edges on many objects

What else?

Not sure it's the same problem, sometimes my car just fall through the track surface. Also in auto-x mode, the car dance around non-stop. I guess it's also caused by collision bug.

That's actually a problem with the textures... due to the way the OpenGL alpha test works, you get some of the color of the transparent areas in the texture. All of the transparent areas of the dijon textures are pink. Coloring the transparent areas with a neutral gray color fixes the problem... I did this to the crowd textures as an example and checked it in, rev 31. I suspect that the old version of VDrift had some pink around the edges too, although it may have been less noticeable because I had the alpha function set up differently. I'd like to be able to keep the alpha function as it is, but this may require some kind of color replacement script to go through and correct all of the track textures.

Hmmm...I'm not sure what's causing what you're showing TerraRoot, could you find some other screenshots? I'll try to look at this at home later...are you saying that the suspension is reacting backwards?

The wheel well came off of the car. also pink is visible on wheel well as well as trees. not sure if this is a problem with the car or not.

Is that a graphics bug or is it really using the wheel way out there?

The car acts fine, rolls like it should and all, just the wheels are odd.

Ohhhh I see what you're saying now! When you do a turn to the left the wheels on the right side end up higher in the body and the wheels on the left side end up lower, which is the opposite of what should happen. Right?

Found same problem but different track with different car. (have yet to try them all) maybe it is a problem with the way vdrift is reading the front left wheel??

Will test on all tracks/try to get all cars and will get back to you guys. Do any other people have this problem? (on a G5 PPC machine?) (On a pc?) on any computers?
EDIT: additionally the ready set go display does show up! (at least for me) :?

I think the ready go .. doesn't display if HUD is disabled, otherwise it works. (this is my experience from a few revisions ago)
