Everything is either white or a blur
When I start the game up. I see a black background and a white box that changes sizes and minor protrusions. I bet they are just text thats just getting blurred. Also, when the main menu loads up, they are blue boxes with a white background. I click on the first option and see a car with no skin (just white) and when I click the green box on the left it looks like its loading the game. I hear an engine for less than a second and it closes out.

Graphics issues? Im running an ATI radeon something on my work laptop with win xp on it.

Weird... i installed the full pack, then did the minimal to get rid of the dll problem. I installed the full pack back over it and now it works... *shrugs*

So it didn't work after installing full, then minimal, but did after you installed full again?

this is possible: the minimal has the required SDL_gfx.dll but the other dll files are bad.
The full package has the good dll files (but is missing SDL_gfx.dll which is installed with the minimal (and not overwritten by the full))

If it's easy to do, maybe we could package up all of the working dlls that the windows folks need and release it as a patch to the windows release. What do you think?

Yea. I had to do the same thing on my computer at home. If you guys are going to do a release soon I wouldnt worry about it. But if its going to be a while i would suggest a windows patch.

I'm thinking of uploading fixed full and minimal packages. The ones who already have installed a bad VDrift can download the minimal. The ones who don't already have VDrift can download this fresh packages.

For the ones that really don't want to download 12 MB I can upload a .zip with the fixed dll's.

Does that sound Ok for everyone?

Can you repackage everything and make a mid release? I grabbed the new minimal hoping it would fix the mouse thing but it made my stuff blur again. Maybe i downloaded the wrong thing?

did you donwload vdrift-2007-03-23-minimal_FIX?

you could try to download dll_vdrift_new.zip and unzip it in the vdrift directory

Hmm, i thought the minimal fix was just the replacement package with dlls. didnt see the dll fix package. does the minimal fix have the latest build? The other minimal fix doesnt do anythign for the mouse. I really want to try using the mouse.
