Turbosquid: good 3D car models

There are some good car models on turbosquid.com. One of our cars may have come from here (the TC). Some of them are quite expensive, others are free. Here's a couple of nice free ones:

i don't think them being labeled "free" there means being able to convert and distribute them as you like...

Here's the text:

3. Rights Granted. The Vendor grants to the 3rd party who either purchases license rights to content via a valid sale, or downloads freely available content submitted by the Vendor, a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, royalty-free license to: publicly perform, publicly display, and digitally perform said content.

I checked on the forums for more info, and it sounds like we're free to "digitally perform" the model (by using it in the game), we just can't distribute the original, unconverted model file.

non-transferable means nobody who downloads vdrift (containing a converted car from there) from us is allowed to redistribute it to his friends....

this is completely unlike the rights granted by opensource licenses where the right to allow redistribution is key.

Hmmm, good point...maybe this is not such a good resource after all. Perhaps we could contact individual authors and ask them if they'll relicense slightly?
