Uninstall the old version completely(just keep your files of course).

Just to be sure delete C:\Users\<username here>\My Documents\My Games\VDrift folder too.

I've uploaded a new build which shouldn't have the missing dll issue(was my fault).

Run vdrift-debug to see collision shape + collision contacts.

Ok ! I've got it.

I love the depth of field option, exacly what it needs.
In my opinion, "Field of view > Wide" should be the view by default !

I love Melbourne, Sepang, Spa, Hungaroring, Interlagos, Suzuka, Montréal...all these tracks based on GP4 game...I remember Microprose's developpers have used GPS to scan these tracks...so tracks elevations are correct !

This is not always like this with tracks converted from F1-99-02...

Is somebody works to convert others GP4 tracks, like Monaco, Imola, Barcelone, Magny-Cours, Silverstone, A1Ring, Indianapolis, Old Hockenheim, Monza, Nurburgring ?

Anyway, about last Vdrift version, here is 2 problems :
- When I enable "shaders" in menu, all is black except skybox.
- When I want to lauch the "KF1" then there is a bug : kart is jumping, spinning, flying...

Any ideas ? here is the link to last version of KF1 :

I think there has been a bug report about objects being black. You've got a nvidia gpu?

Have you tried KF1-91? There have been changes to car files since last release. I'll fix it and commit the new track and kart.

How should we name it? KF1-12 is not good if there will be more versions.

Is it OK to call the track Wackersdorf without K? I hope to add car, track groups soon.

KF1-91 is ok, only the new KF1 is bugged...on KF1, i've just changed steer-wheel position and driver position. But it worked on previous Vdrift version...

I think "KF1" is a good name...this is the name of the category...

The current version can be called "KF1-TonyKart", or "T-KF1" if you don't want real car names...

I plan to modelise other kart tracks : any tracks are based on same place of car-tracks. For exemple, here is Suzuka car track, and Suzuka Kart track !

So I've given "K" prefix to show there is a kart track...but i'm ok to change name...

I'm looking for log.txt, nvidia, nd screenshot

I think KF1-Tony is OK, hope Tony is not a trademark hehe.

What about wackersdorf-kart? The name in the about.txt can be Wackersdorf Kart Track.

If you can't find log.txt post stderr.txt, stdout.txt from vdrift folder.

About Kart name, I understand we can't use real team names.
So here are suggestions :

Team name based on nationality : KF1-Team_Italy or KF1-Scuderia-Italia
Team based on main color : KF1-GreenRacing
Fictive name, based on real name (your idea!) : KF1-Tony

About Wackersdorf, we can call it "wackersdorf". Here is no car tracks around :wink:

Try setting "reflection quality" to low. If that fixes the black screen issue, then it's a known bug.

I've pushed the new kart as KF1T. The track needs roads to be traced for ai and racing, but shouldn't take too long. I'll look into the kart issues after that.

About track editor, when I try to lauch it (after I've written "Wackersdorf" in "editor.cofig"), my computer crashes completly ! screen is blue, windows restarts :shock:

Does it exists a most reliable version ?

I'd like to talk about Karting race week-end devlopment :

To make it perfect, we should have races with 34 karts, and follow these regulations :

Friday :
Free practice (4 sessions, 20 min each) -> just training.

Saturday :
Free practice (1 session : 20min) -> just training
Qualifing session (1 session, 8min) -> best times gives grid positions for race 1
Race 1 (25km) -> race position at finish gives points, and grid position for race 2
Race 2 (25km) -> race position at finish gives points.

Sunday :
Free practice (1 session, 20min) -> just training
Qualifing session (1 session, 8min) -> best times gives grid position for race 3
Race 3 (25km) ->race position at finish gives points, and grid position for race 4
(Podium)
Race 4 (25km) -> race position at finish gives points.
(Podium)
(Press conference)

Points for championship : 25, 20, 16, 13, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. -> if you win the 4 races, then you have 100 points at end of week-end.

Here is a start position for free practices and qualifing session (1) and a start position for races (2). At end of each session, karts come back to pits and stops in parc fermé (3). (In this area, when kart stops, maybe player go to garage menu to works on setups, before next session ?)

do you think we can work to develop race for 34 karts, following these regulations ?

If you agree, then for my part I'll have to optimise KF1 mesh, work on LODs, and work on Wackersdorf track, to prepare starts positions, parc fermé, and optimise mesh if needed...

Not good. Means driver or hardware issue usually. You should always use the latest version of the editor.

I've pushed an initial roads version. It is pretty much auto-traced from roads mesh(could be better). But at least the ai manages to finish the race.

34 karts, it's a nice challenge...

That's nice if you agree to work on this "race week-end" project.

Actually KF1 makes around 11000 polys. If player starts 34th, it makes 363000 polys ahead !! be sure we'll need LOD...

So, do you think we should work on KF1 and Wackersdorf optimisation for race week-end, and when all will be ok then I'll modelise next tracks ?

Or do you prefer I modelise next tracks now ?

Can you send me the very last version of trackeditor ? the 3 versions I've downloaded from website makes crash the pc...

I wouldn't waste time on optimization as long as there is no code to profile it.

Btw I need to finish a few bits I am working on atm before starting new stuff, but I hope it won't take too long.

The first step after that will be increasing the number of allowed cars from 4 to > 30 I guess, so that we can do some performance profiling.
