OpenGL 3.3 renderer rewrite
02-26-2011, 01:44 AM,
Do you have the latest data repository?
02-26-2011, 01:45 AM,
Also, are either of you passing any additional arguments to vdrift besides -gl3?
02-26-2011, 01:49 AM,
One more question: are you both on 64-bit operating systems?
02-26-2011, 05:23 AM,
i'm using latest revisions(3076, 806), and looks like gianni and i are both on ubuntu 10.10 64-bit and same video driver.

it all works without -gl3. and i've tried -gl3 with and without -multithreaded.

Yes, I'm using latest data repository.
Like portets the problem appear only this command:

> ./build/vdrift -gl3

And without -gl3 option all it goes fine.

Do either of you have an easy way to update to the 260.19.36 drivers? The 19.21 drivers fixed some crashes:
It'd be nice to rule out a driver bug.

Hi Joe.
I've tried to install nVidia binary driver 260.19.21 and 260.19.36 with and without OpenGL 32 bit compatibility mode following this istruction:

but nothing has changed Sad

Thanks for doing that, it helped me narrow down the problem. Try R3081 and see if it's fixed. The GUI should be drawn normally; there still might be artifacts on the track and the car probably won't be drawn at all -- that's all expected.

Compiling rev. 3082 I get:
scons: Building targets ...
    CPP build/collision_world.o
src/collision_world.cpp: In member function ‘bool COLLISION_WORLD::CastRay(const btVector3&, const btVector3&, btScalar, const btCollisionObject*, COLLISION_CONTACT&) const’:
src/collision_world.cpp:210: error: cast from ‘void*’ to ‘int’ loses precision
src/collision_world.cpp:211: error: cast from ‘void*’ to ‘int’ loses precision
scons: *** [build/collision_world.o] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.

Sorry for my dumb question, but how to set the argument -gl3 using the windows codeblocks?

Thanks, should be fixed in 3083.

rv3083 i get:

    CPP bullet/BulletCollision/CollisionDispatch/btCollisionWorld.o
bullet/BulletCollision/CollisionDispatch/btCollisionWorld.cpp: In member function ‘virtual void btCollisionWorld::rayTestSingle(const btTransform&, const btTransform&, btCollisionObject*, const btCollisionShape*, const btTransform&, btCollisionWorld::RayResultCallback&)::RayTester::Process(const btDbvtNode*)’:
bullet/BulletCollision/CollisionDispatch/btCollisionWorld.cpp:511: error: cast from ‘void*’ to ‘int’ loses precision
scons: *** [bullet/BulletCollision/CollisionDispatch/btCollisionWorld.o] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.

What compiler + settings?
02-27-2011, 09:53 PM,
alright, rv3084 fixed it.

but now i get a black screen. everything reports correctly:

INFO: Loaded fonts successfully
INFO: Loaded GUI successfully

but the screen is all black with a mouse pointer.

without -gl3 works fine.

i'm using gcc 4.4.4 with default settings.

Getting closer! Big Grin

Does updating data to 808 change anything for you?
