GAME valuelist

GAME valuelist
Slackware 13.1
I try to start the game, but the log says:

Can you check if the player car set in "/home/koteg/.vdrift/VDrift.config" exists, has a texture folder with body00.png, body01.png, ... paint textures.

The path would be: "/usr/share/games/vdrift/data/cars/.../textures/body00.png".

I found VDrift.config here on forum, and also i found config http://wiki.vdrift.net/VDrift.config and i try it to use both, but I had the same problem. So, now i delete VDrift.config and log became:

I can't understand there is value"player_paints" ?

"player_paints" list the internal name for the list with body textures for the selected player car. It is filled by looking for bodyXX.png textures in the selected car directory.

I had the same error message due to running the wrong executable (binaries/linux32/vdrift). My fix was

cd vdrift-2010-06-30/
scons release=1
./build/vdrift (this worked where ./binaries/linux32/vdrift failed with the same error message as you saw)

Ah, so perhaps this error is due to the executable not being able to find its data? We should really make that a more clear error....

Also, you're using a very old version of VDrift. You might want to try one of the newer releases. You can find downloads on the main vdrift.net page.

Hi, I have absolutely same problem ("player_paints"). I compiled it using http://wiki.vdrift.net/Getting_the_development_version but still show me this version:

If you go to the folder where the vdrift sources are and do "svn info" it'll tell you which repository you're using and which version you have. Can you post the results of that command here?

The http://svn.vdrift.net/repos/vdrift/trunk/binaries repo isn't really maintained. You should get the source tree and build it. The source repo is http://svn.vdrift.net/repos/vdrift/trunk
