After installing the new windows version

the application started windowed showing only some vague colored blobs]
pressing the red one - or was it the green one enabled me to leave the application.
I had to set my windows display setting to 800x600 to start the application with a readable display. within the game I could change the setting to 1440x900 again. Exit the game. Changed the windows display settings back to 1440x900. And started the game again.

Om mijn displayinstellingen goed te krijgen moest ik hem eerst onder windows zelf op de spel-default 800*600 zetten.
Het spel starten en hem binnen het spel naar 1440*900 zetten.
Het spel afbreken.
De windows instellingen weer op 1440*900 zetten
Het spel starten.

If the text looks like colored squares this usually indicates the game is not able to find all its data. I'm confused as to why the resolution would affect this at all. Could you provide a screen shot of the problem? Also, could you post the stderr.txt and stdout.txt that appear in the directory where you run vdrift.exe?

I haven't seen anything like this on Windows; my Win test machine is similar to yours but slower.

I' also have this problem sometimes after changing resolution or other graphic settings. My only difference is that I use a ATI card and I thought it was because of the ATI drivers.

tonight i am having a open source lan party and this problem also occurs on my windows laptop. This time the trick didnt work.
I cannot find any stderr.txt or stdout.txt files
The only log file filled is the

I used the following install sequence to get the missing dll.
1 Full version
2. Minimal version.
This probably resulted in the deletion of some of the files needed.
After again installing the full version and changing the display settings manualy in the .drift config it worked.

It sounds like deleting the .vdrift folder should be part of the upgrade process (or maybe vdrift should recognize an old folder and upgrade it).
