vDrift does not start

Hi,i wanted to test vdrift on my Acer Laptop (Win XP, Celeron 1,73, X700). However, the Game doesn't seem to start up. I do not get any Error Messages....Does anybody know what i have look for?

Which release are you using and what exactly happens when you start it up?

The latest release, that is VDrift-2005-09-01-win32bin.zipNothing happens, my Cursor gets that Sandclock for a short period, and than nothing else happens

Check the logs folder and see if there are any non-zero sized files in there. They're all text files and can be opened with notepad. If there are some, paste the contents of the files into a reply.

There is no such "Logs" Folder in my vdrift folder. Or do i have to look elsewhere for it?

Nope, that's where they would be. I'm stumped....

Just now, I simply made a folder "logs" in my vDrift folder. I tried to start vDrift (it didn't start up) and a few *.log files appeared in my folder. However they are all of 0 Bytes size.I have a carsettings, data, lists and now a logs folder in my vdrift folder. Perhaps there are more folders missing?

Hmm... did a stderr.txt or stdout.txt appear in the same folder as VDrift.exe? Do they contain anything?If you can, try creating a shortcut that points to vdrift.exe but add the option -verbose so the target looks something like:"vdrift.exe" -verboseand then see if something useful gets put in stderr.txt or stdout.txt

You could also probably open a terminal (Start -&gt; Run -&gt; cmd) and change to the folder where vdrift is, then run it, something like this<pre>C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\VDrift\&gt; vdrift.exe -verbose</pre>

AHA! Try opening the file runtime/videomode in notepad and change the resolution there. Not sure what will happen in 1280x800 mode...you might want to try it at 1024x768 windowed mode first. In the file you'll see something like "1280 1024 32 1" change it to "1024 768 32 0" and see how that works.

where ist there a runtime folder? what else must there be written in that file?

Oops, sorry. I forgot, there is no runtime folder in Windows. It should be in VDrift/data/lists/videoconfg, if I'm not mistaken (again).
