Car Classes and some other suggestions.

What would make this look wonderfull would be making different classes for cars, but when playing online we could only choose the class that the server wanted. I was thinking in about 4classes, with only some cars each, one class for smaller cars(I don't know the name you gave to them in english but maybe HatchBack?), the second class would be faster cars, not supercars, not hatchbacks(sp?) cars like Honda Civic, Toyota Celica, and the list goes on. All these two classes are stock, the next class would be tuning, cars with some tuning , the last class would be where you could put rally cars, crazy cars, trucks? lol everything that doesn't fit in the other classes. Now the problem is that my coding experience is very limited, if someone here is good with whatever the language the game is written, could make this, I can make some test cars(one for each class), I can make menus or even Loading Screens, Background Garages(I improve my skills on Graphic Designer everyday, so no more crappy "Improved Visual" menus .)

When you talk about tuning, do you mean a personal tuning that will customise cars by yourself or use only cars of the SVN or latest version?
I mean that if you tune cars and that other ppl on the server doesn't have the same data of the car, it might lead to bugs(how could they have your car? would you upload it everytime?).
Anyway, it's better to be free to choose the car you want to drive in, a chat could allow ppl to suggest others to switch cars for a better balanced race.

Most racing organizations have some sort of classing system. The autocross group I race with has their own. NASA (North American Sportscar Association) has their own as well for track racing (see the Time Trial Classer for example). I'm sure there are classing systems for drag, drift, and rally as well. I think we should just try to pick a simple classing system for the game and use that...an existing one would be nice though. Then all cars could be classed based on this system, and comparisons between cars would be easy, and race groups could be built around classes.
