Flying off the map

FYI, Dandel sent this gallery link to me on IRC:

For future reference, it's fine to just show a few easily reproducible bugs... like the worst offenders. A lot of these areas are way off the track or only get hit if you're driving the track backwards, so we didn't bother to tag them as collideable for performance reasons. Should be fine to mark them as such now though, if someone has time to go do it. If you're interested, I could describe how to do it.

Quote:Side note(Small collision boxes): The smaller collision boxes for say Distance markers and Road cones should be handled differently, because it's not realistic to hit one of these items at over 100 mph and have the car sent flying. Instead these items should be made destructible in some fashion (or for convenience have the collision bounds on these turned off)

This is planned. NaN recently rewrote the physics engine to support doing this sort of thing, although that specific functionality isn't there yet.

hmm, i seem to have lost the highlighting of collide-able surfaces in the track editor. can anybody else confirm this?

never mind. it works on my desktop but not on my laptop. anyway, i made a couple of billboards collide-able to keep the "adventurous" for going easily off the track (i'm sure they'll still find ways).
