check out my Vmotorcycle!
Big Grin

i'm so surprised that it actually almost kind of works! i had no idea that vdrift could handle a two wheeled vehicle.

it moves, turns, everything. it takes alot of skill to drive it without it tipping though. the only thing it needs to be able to drive correctly is the ability for the game to shift weight on a vehicle. which sounds like it might be hard.....

but anyway, i thought people might find it interesting.

edit: after a bit of tweaking, i can now make a full lap around a track!! Smile

yeah, me too! haha.
it's actually the gokart in the media repo, just modified a bit.

after even more tweaking, i've got the motorcycle to tilt in the direction you turn! after i get it slightly more usable i'll upload it if anyone wants to try it.

so here it is for anyone who wants to try.

https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0ByBA2iQHj...load&hl=en

before you try it:
  • 1. it works slightly better with the elchtest mod
    2. it does tilt in the direction you turn
    3. the faster you go the more it tilts, so slow down! Smile
    4. the faster you go the more out of control it gets(fishtails)
    5. choose a track that's flat because this thing is light
    6. choose a track that has a left turn as it's first turn, i centered all of the weights but it still wants to fall to the right when you move straight

and just so you know, it's extremely unrealistic and unstable, but it does work.

lots of fun
This is a lot of fun to play against as an opponent, he just goes flying when you hit him.

He kind of just falls over for me after a few seconds (on lagunaseca), whether or not i'm moving or sitting still.

weird, are you running with elchtest? if not, i'll go back to a previous revision to replicate your falling over.

edit: tried with an older revision and it still works for me

I'm running R2623.

It's a slow falling over, granted, but eventually he falls over and then starts getting booted all over the place by the collision response.

I'll post a video here in a sec.

Here you go:

Granted, I suck at driving it...

Also, the first run I was trying to find my gamepad so that's why it's a little nuts. :-)

And off topic, yukon works great for linux video capture!

and in your video it behaves very strange, i doubt it's an operator problem
