Will the old gauges be back?

If this isn't too late to bump, I was wondering if there are any new thoughts or plans on this. I've been trying several car games, and what makes me most sad in vdrift compared to other sims is not having a real speedo.

I also thought about another thing. Gauges could be made car specific too, like many sims have them. Each car containing its speedometer and the speedo can be colored to what looks best for that car (or if the info can be found, textured the way each car has it in real life).

For the time being, I was still wondering if there's any hidden or hackish way to enable the old speedo again. Was that code totally removed or can it still be enabled?
