UPDATE: DEBFILES, a gobal variable array which tracks where each file in the package should go, would be highly distribution dependant, meaning that the documentation would go into some folder for Debian distributions and in another folder for other distributions, so if Fedora people decide they want to build RPMs with SCons they would also need to make some kind of RPMFILES or FedoraFILES.

Suddenly it doesn't sound like a good idea. What do you think?
