As long as SDL detects both joysticks, then VDrift should be able to work with you gamepad even if it's plugged in second. However, you need to reassign your controls depending on which order they got plugged in. That's because all it knows is that the first joystick plugged in is joystick 0 and the second is joystick 1. Since all of your controls are set up for joystick 0, then that's the joystick that will be used. If you plug in your gamepad second, you need to re-assign your controls, and then it should work as joystick 1. However, if you switch the order that you plug them in again, you'd have to remap again. The best solution would be to assign controls by joystick device name instead of by number, I suppose.
