Still no info on how to separate pedals on a DFP/Momo?

I have read the posts concerning the usbsnoop and getting the ff to work, but I haven't found any info on how to get the pedals reported as separate (axises). As you know in Windows it's done within the driver/Logitech software, but is there any way to accomplish this in Linux? I guess all I need to do is to send the wheel some "magic bytes" to set the correct mode, but that's way beyond my skills if it's even possible Any help?
