windows vista compiling problems

for some reason the installation of mingw doesnt set paths automatically in vista... that was my problem solved.

however i now have a new problem when i run scons , i get this error:



even though i have not touched stdio it works fine in XP but not here, im not really sure what would cause this. The output carries on like this with syntax errors and undeclared variables for stdlib.h and string.h



has anybody else have this problem?
