Can you be more specific about the error you get, when you get it, etc.?

When? At start(doubleclick icon Vdrift.lnk or vdrift.exe). No game window was open, I on the spot get error message.

Did installing the .NET framework fix the problem?

Yes.
I install Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 and it fix the problem.

However all of them are open source software and none of them are written in .NET/C#, so you shouldn't need it for anything, as far as I understand.

I'm not sure what you mean about FreeBSD. The requirements on all platforms should only be SDL, SDL_image, SDL_net, OpenAL & ALUT, and SDL_gfx. The Windows version already includes all those libraries.

I not fix segmentation error FreeBSD so far. And think by analogy.
