Joystick control in "main menu"

Sorry for my very late reply, I was very busy during the last month and had no time to verify. You are right, the problem was that the mouse pointer is located on one button and makes the joystick control does not work.

However, this behavior is suboptimal in my case. I am using a barebone as multimedia station for watching DVDs, TV, and listening to my music. I use the mythtv suite to fulfill these tasks and control everything with my remote control. Additionally I have to wireless joypads.... So is there a way to run VDrift without a mouse and keyboard?

Can I disable the mouse support to prevent the behavior that the joystick menu control is ignored?
Can I use the joystick for interrupting the game (Esc- key behaviour)?
Does VDrift comes along with lirc support?
