What version of VDrift are you using?
Could you post the contents of /Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/VDrift/log.txt

Also I recommend you copy the VDrift application and data folder to somewhere on your filesystem, probably your Application folder, rather than running from the disk image. It will be faster to open.
