The VDrift.config should be in C:\Documents and Settings\your username\.vdrift\

make sure that the second line is

data_dir = C:\Program Files\VDrift\

where C:\Program Files\VDrift\ is the place wher VDrift is installed
probably this solves the proble
this problem should be fixed in the next version
