Yeah, the Unreal Engine Development Kit is a great middleware for game development. But it has one serious drawback. It is not open source.

The free(non commercial) version as such is in direct concurrence to open source development.

So for VDrift as on open source project I would rather stick to open source components to motivate/encourage their development, even if they aren't as sophisticated as the UDK.

But that is my very personal opinion. Smile
