Ubuntu 8.10 and Vdrift installation help.
Hello. I recently started using Ubuntu 8.10 and I am looking to install Vdrift. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to begin. I have downloaded and extracted vdrift-08-05-08 and I also installed scons because I read that I might need that to install Vdrift. If there is anyone who could help me or walk-though my installation? It would be much appreciated! :-)

P.S.: I noticed my Bullet 2.66 folder was empty. Is this a potential problem?

You'll need to take a look at the compiling directions here:
http://wiki.vdrift.net/Compiling

Make sure to use the OLD Bullet compile directions.

Hmm...
I think I followed the instructions correctly, but here's the terminal read out when i use scons:

Code:
skyfire@ubuntu:~$ cd vdrift-08-05-08
skyfire@ubuntu:~/vdrift-08-05-08$ scons
scons: Reading SConscript files ...

scons: warning: The Options class is deprecated; use the Variables class instead.
File "/home/skyfire/vdrift-08-05-08/SConstruct", line 9, in <module>

scons: warning: The BoolOption() function is deprecated; use the BoolVariable() function instead.
File "/home/skyfire/vdrift-08-05-08/SConstruct", line 13, in <module>
Checking for C++ header file GL/gl.h... no
You do not have the GL/gl.h headers installed. Exiting.
skyfire@ubuntu:~/vdrift-08-05-08$

You need to install the headers, libraries, etc. See the Prerequisites section on the Compiling article. I believe those are Ubuntu package names...
