Car won't go abov idle speed
I have been playing vdrift perfectly. After a reboot I can no longer get the engine above idle speed. On the countdown in neutral it revs up but after it says go the needle won't go any further than idle. It moves a millimeter and stops. Has anyone got a fix for this?

What OS? Which VDrift release? Which car and track combinations do this?

I have never heard of this bug. What controls are you using (for gas/brake/steering)?

XP SP2, The latest releasre on the site, I'm using my gamepad and the car will rev up normally in the countdown but won't after it says GO. If I shift into a different gear it will stall. I'll try with auto clutch On to see if that helps.
It's on any car and any track.
UPDATE: Tried with autoclutch and the car still won't go.

UPDATE 2: It's almost as though the car needs bump starting because if I keep switching between neutral and 1st the car will gather some speed and go fine until it goes back into neutral.

UPDATE 3: It only needs to have around 250 rpm when it's rolling in first for it to start and keep going.

FIXED: The reason was because I had the same key mapped to neutral and engine start.

Glad you figured this out. I have been trying to think of a way to block multiple assignment of the same input but haven't figured out a way yet. Also we still have some controls that need to be bound twice...but they would have other properties (like button up instead of button down) so it may be possible to differentiate them that way, and just make sure each control input is unique...

Im running it on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (7.10) and i have the same problem, and a liitle one with that...

You see, i cant get to 1st gear because i'm using a steering wheel and if i set up it to shift gears with buttons on it, but it wont react!!!! It's like the steering and the gas is reacting, but none of the buttons are!
In top of that your way of solving it wont work on mine...
Steering wheel- Panther Lord (cheap one) dont know the model, borrowed from a friend
PC- Ubuntu 7.10 3.0ghz intel hyperthread, Ati Radeon 9600, 512mb ram

emsis: sorry for the slow response. Please post your controls.config file. If you are able to set the controls to the wheel's buttons, they should work in the game, if you have them assigned correctly.
