BMW M3 transmission setting
What do you think about these setting (M3 car):

[ transmission ]
gears = 5
gear-ratio-r = -3.51
gear-ratio-1 = 2.77
gear-ratio-2 = 1.95
gear-ratio-3 = 1.50
gear-ratio-4 = 1.21
gear-ratio-5 = 0.95
shift-delay = 0.07

[ differential ]
final-drive = 3.98
anti-slip = 600.0

How did you come up with these values? Are they from a real E30 style M3 like the one in the game?

No, it's not real values. I catch them from sports car gt except gear-ratio-5.
Do you want only original values?

We try to stick to cars original values as much as possible to keep things feeling realistic. The exception is cars that aren't real, for instance the AX2 is not a real car at all, so we have a little liberty to set up the car as we want to. However most people who come to the game will expect the cars to drive like their counterparts in real life.

As soon as the opportunity presents itself I have a lot of work to do getting our car parts system working again. When that time comes we will need some different parts and this would be a good place to put alternate transmissions, tires, etc. for people to swap out with the regular model.

I've found this link:

I'll try to use some of these setting.
Which car is precisely? M3 E30 ...?

Yep, ours is the E30. The site you linked to has several nice upgrade options.

About the torque I catch the information at this link:

http://www.bimmers.com/clubracing/archiv...chips.html
(I use stock and Sprocket)

Certainly there are something to adjust. In my opinion between the car
is too slow (for my test I used Monza).

Someone could give me some advice.

About total weight, is the sum of the total mass in file M3.car?

Thanks. pwp71.

Your values are in ft-lbs I think torque's unity is N m in this game.
Multiply everything by 1.35581807
But the M3 is good and it's great that cars are being improved.

Thank you very much osiris.
Now seem to be a little better.
I agree with you, M3 is one of my favorite car when I play SCGT.

Now value are:

I've checked about mass and it's very close to values in your links.
(mass of the car according to your link - mass of the car of the mage including the driver =200 + 200 + 230 + 230 + 50 + 25 + (0.05 * 17) + (19 * 2) + 90 + 180 - 1 235.8562 = 7.9938)
This car is quite good as we can be fast in corners…

Thanks for your research on this, I'll adjust the M3 files and check it in once I get a chance to test it once, unless someone else beats me to it. Smile

With the Landshark, in N-m, with the mass modified to fit the total mass more acurately with your values :

[ engine ]
position = 1.42, 0.0, -0.24
mass = 172.0
max-power = 1.65e5
peak-engine-rpm = 6750.0
rpm-limit = 7750.0
inertia = 0.20
idle = 0.02
start-rpm = 1000
stall-rpm = 400
fuel-consumption = 1e-9
torque-friction = 0.0003
torque-curve-00 = 2000, 217
torque-curve-01 = 2250, 232
torque-curve-02 = 2500, 233
torque-curve-03 = 2750, 236
torque-curve-04 = 3000, 236
torque-curve-05 = 3250, 240
torque-curve-06 = 3500, 249
torque-curve-07 = 3750, 259
torque-curve-08 = 4000, 270
torque-curve-09 = 4250, 270
torque-curve-10 = 4500, 270
torque-curve-11 = 4750, 278
torque-curve-12 = 5000, 282
torque-curve-13 = 5250, 275
torque-curve-14 = 5500, 274
torque-curve-15 = 5750, 267
torque-curve-16 = 6000, 256
torque-curve-17 = 6250, 245
torque-curve-18 = 6500, 236
torque-curve-19 = 6750, 228
torque-curve-20 = 7000, 218
torque-curve-21 = 7250, 216
torque-curve-22 = 7500, 182
torque-curve-23 = 7750, 156

Another modify:

All four wheel: 205/55VR15 tires on 7x15-inch cross-spoke alloy wheels

[ tire-front ]
radius = 0.3032

[ tire-rear ]
radius = 0.3032

All E30 M3s have vented front disc brakes measuring 11.1-inches (280mm)
and solid rear discs measuring 11.1-inches (282mm). ABS is standard.

[ brakes-front ]
radius = 0.140

[ brakes-rear ]
radius = 0.141

BMW use low rolling resistance car tire.
I don't know precisely which.

[ tire-front ]
rolling-resistance = 8.0e-3, 6.5e-6

[ tire-rear ]
rolling-resistance = 8.0e-3, 6.5e-6

What do you think?
