AWD enhancements
Ive probably mentioned it somewhere but just in case. Im not sure if this should be in bugs or not. Ive noticed that awd cars accelerate quite a bit faster than both FWD and RWD. I think whats happening is that its like having 2 engines and 2 sets of driving wheels.

My suggestion/request is to have an option to distribute the power between both sets of driving wheels. Some rally cars have different power distributions between front and rear. I would like to fiddle with it, I think 40/60 would be a fair distribution but as much as 20/80 would be good for drifting. Should it be config file only or an option in game?

Wow, I hope that's not what's happening. Have you tried setting a RWD car to AWD and checked to see if it changes the acceleration?

I made the E30 AWD and OMG that sucker is fast now. Its not a matter of wheel spin because even in gear it goes SO FAST. Try it out.

Yeah, I and others have noticed before that the AWD cars seem way too fast. reece146 said this when he set up the WRX, and I noticed the Celica seems too fast too...

Joe, check the mathematics around the torque split maybe? To me it seems like either there is just plain wrong math there and/or if there is some kind of efficiency loss in there it is not done right. Normally with AWD the center diff can consume around 90-95% of the power (friction and gear face losses).

The Impreza is close, I'd say it is an order of 15-20% kind of thing from my seat of the pants experience with the real car.

Agreed. I just drove an impreza to work today :-p 140hp but feels tons slower than my stock E30 with 160 hp. AWD cars should be slower from a start but are better in traction. Altho ive noticed for drifting in this game they are great at controlling loss of traction Smile
