Weird Textures problem

Hi guys,
I've just downloaded the last full release for Windows of Vdrift and I'm having some strange problems.

In some tracks the texture are loaded but not always displayed (eg. neurburing). I know that the texture are loaded since sometime, for few frame, I can see them.

I've tried to change all the possible Display options, from the worst to the best with no results.

I've also deactivated the antivirus, firewall, spyware tools and a lot of others programs.

My system is:

AMD2600+
ATI Radeon 8500
Windows XP SP2
vdrift 2007-03-23-full

Any Ideas?

Several users have reported this problem and we're working on a fix. Look in this thread for some different solutions...

Hi,
thanks for your suggestions, I tried the SDL DLL archive but the game have the same behaviour.
I think that the problem in the thread You suggested me its different; I don't have problem with the menu graphics, my problems begins when I start to play some circuit (not all).
In some circuit all works fine, in others the texture are generally not displayed. During game for few frame I can see them, otherwise I see white texture everywhere (white box instead of object).

If I find some webspace I'll try to post some screenshots to better explain what happens to me.

This sounds like a problem that used to occur in older Windows versions where all the textures in the game would go white sometimes. I thought it was fixed...also, if you want to post screenshots, you can put them in our gallery. Sign up here.

Hmmm, very strange indeed. It looks like you're on Nuerburgring there, what other tracks does this happen on? All of them or just a few?

You guess right, it's Nürburgring.
I made a quick test, just few seconds on each track.
You can read the results below:

Brands Hatch - seems ok
Detroit - seems ok
Dijon - seems ok
Hockenheim - seems ok
Jarama - no
Kyalami - seems ok
Laguna Seca - seems ok
Le Mans - no
Monaco - seems ok
Monza - seems ok
Mosport - seems ok
Nürburgring Nordschleife - no
Pau - seems ok
Road Atlanta - no
Ruudskogen - seems ok
Spa Francorchamps - no
Weekend Drive - no
Zandvoort - seems ok

I thought perhaps it was due to the size of the particular track being loaded, but some of the very large tracks work OK for you (barcelona, mosport), while some smaller tracks don't (jarama, le mans). Maybe this is due to some other setting or property of some tracks. Anyone more familiar with the track settings want to comment?

I've installed Ubuntu and now the game seems to work fine.
I've noticed a performance gap in the game between XP and Ubuntu, but probably this depends on my poor skills in a Linux environment.

I have the same problem--
I'm using a radeon 8500 as well, might that be the problem?
