problem with starting game on ubuntu 9.04?

I had downloaded vdrift-2009-02-15 and succesfuly instaled but when I start the game everything is OK after i click on START game crushes.

Did you get the 2009-02-15 source tar.bz2 that's linked from the vdrift.net main page, or did you download it from somewhere else?

Did you change any of the compilation options to increase the optimization level?

downloaded 9-02-15 source from vdrift site and just compile with scons and after that sudo scons install. everything was OK. after that I start game and after clicked practice or start game crashes.

What kind of video card do you have? Based on the VDrift output it looks like you're using the mesa software opengl drivers. VDrift requires a 3D video card.

that must be a problem. I have ATI 9550GE but without drivers because latest ATI drivers doesn't support my card. drivers older than latest doesn't support X server on ubuntu 9.04 so I can't install older drivers.

only solution is to buy new graphic card which I don't want
