Replays and restarting

If you select Restart from the main menu while playing back a replay, the replay continues playing but the car is put back at the beginning. I think this should make the replay restart, or cancel the replay and restart the game, or do nothing at all. Not sure which makes most sense...If you restart while recording a replay and then play back the replay, the car continues with the actions recorded after resetting but the car doesn't get reset.
