I assume i was missing glew.. so i've got it from here http://glew.sourceforge.net/ (i was unable to find an rpm) and installed it

That thread contains a similar problem that never got resolved.

Here are a few thoughts though I'm not certain they will make things work for you.

First off, ldconfig did not get run after the make install for GLEW. However this probably won't make a difference since you did not get any "could not find GLEW" errors, rather you are missing some symbols from your GL libraries. I'm not sure what the latest ATI driver is, do you have the latest version? If you do, I'm not sure what else we can do - those symbols should be found by your linker in the GL library. I'm guessing this is ATI's fault. Here's a thread with some similar problems from ATI card owners from another open source game

I'm gonna try to update the drivers to the really latest release (Jan. 18, 2008).

From the second link you posted i've understood (my english is not so good) that there is some probability that the game run disabling shaders... so i guess a binary release should make the work.

Yes that's correct, it's a possibility, if you used a binary compiled on a machine with working drivers. Watch our RSS feed for an announcement of a new Linux autopackage, and you can try it with shaders disabled.

I'm not trying to compile from svn but the latest linux source release: I have a dialup (56K) connection so it is quite impossible for me to download 1,2 gigabyte.
