Well.. During my installation I encountered the usual problem here (http://vdrift.net/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=637)
But I fixed it, but then I got another issue, seems like a graphical error.

My system:
OS: Windows Vista
Memory: 2048 MB
Graphic Card: Nvidia Geforce 6100
Is there any patch, or will it just come new release all the time. If, when will the next release come?

There are 2 other threads talking about this problem in the forum. Out of curiosity, I downloaded the windows minimum install and tried it out. The same problem is happening on my laptop. It's using an Intel 945GM.

So apparently the game cannot find the textures. The default texture size in VDrift.config is large.

What method is the windows version using to locate the data files?

Win32 version uses DATA_DIR as the data directory, which is defined in definitions.h. For Linux build, this is generated by scons script. I'm not sure what happens for Win32 build.
p.s. does the Win32 build print some output when runing vdrift.exe, similar to linux version? I'm not able to get any output, even with -debug flag.

EDIT:
Ok, now I get output to the console, but I'll disable it for release build (it this case it has always an open commandline screen, which I don't like)
For the problem reported here:
I have this om my other win32 computer too.
And I work arounded this by using the official SDL dlls.
So it seems that something is wrong with my home-compiled build, but I have no idea what.
The best work arround seems to download win32 deps used by SDLDot net
which you can find (repackaged) on my site:

Thanks FFuser. I've replaced these 4 DLLs using the file from your site,
SDL.dll
SDL_gfx.dll
SDL_image.dll
SDL_net.dll
And it's working now.

Alright, if this is confirmed fixed for everyone, can we make a new windows package that reflects changes in its name? I mean, don't just replace the old file...do something like I did with the autopackage fix, call it 2007-03-23-install-2 or something along those lines. That way users will know they're getting updated versions and not the old broken ones.

these DLL have some disadvantages:
Maybe some people need that MSVCRT8.DLL again (not sure) +
I think it creates the stdout.txt/stderr.txt files so that Vista users can run into problems with rights
